The Garmin Alpha 200i handheld GPS will keep you connected to up to 20 dogs up to 9 miles away (depending on the dog collar device used) with a 2.5 second update rate. Keep a full registry of inactive dogs as well and manage active groups keeping you from having to add and remove dogs for each hunt you conquer. An included rechargeable lithium-ion battery will keep you on the move lasting up to 20 hours in a standard GPS mode or up to 15 hours when the inReach technology function is enabled.

Built with a 3.5” color touchscreen display that beautifully represents preloaded TopoActive mapping provides each user with topographic elevations, summits, parks, rivers, lakes, terrain contours and more. Navigate with ease with the best of Garmin’s mapping and GPS sensors that will keep you accurately locked in and on track even under heavy tree cover. An optional display of public land ownership boundaries overlaid on topographical maps keep you in the know of where you should and shouldn’t be venturing while you’re on your destined path. Birdseye Satellite Imagery can also be downloaded to your Alpha 200i for real life views of routes, trailheads, clearings, and more (an active subscription is required for this feature).

The internal barometric altimeter and built-in tilt compensated three axis electronic compass allows you to monitor ascent and descent along with short-term trends in air pressure and will keep your bearing whether you’re moving or not. Your Alpha 200i includes a single micro-sd card slot that allows you to expand the internal memory, or, add more mapping detail with the Garmin TOPO US 24K or HuntView Plus maps (sold separately). Pair your Garmin Alpha 200i handheld with the Garmin Explore App on your compatible smartphone to see real-time dog tracking information, saved collections of dog tracks, and replay saved tracks to see exactly where you ventured during each hunt.

Train your dogs with 18 levels of stimulation for momentary or continuous stimulation options that can be customized for each dog. An easy to use 6 button design offers dedicated buttons for faster training cues and minor adjustments while in the field as well. Issue different levels of audible tones or vibration commands for quick adjustments to individual dogs on the fly and view the Pro Compass mode to get an at-a-glance tracking that shows which direction and how far your dogs are and will see when a dog is “Treed” or OnPoint”.

The Garmin Alpha 200i is built with an added safety feature which can quickly come in handy in the event of an emergency while in the field. inReach Technology (based on subscription) will allow you to stay in touch and exchange text messages with loved ones, post to social media and communicate inReach to inReach. A simple message that says “I’m OK” or having the ability to message someone a detailed message of an emergency at hand is an added piece of mind that every hunter can rely on. Trigger an active SOS message to GEOS, a Garmin powered international emergency response center and receive professional 24/7 responses to your specific emergency when you need help most. Track and share your location with those at home or other friends in the field so they can see your progress and or ping your device to receive your current location and more (active satellite subscription required).
