The pre-loaded Garmin Navionics+ charts provide coastal and inland coverage for the US with data sourced from Garmin and Navionics. Preloaded Garmin Navionics Charts include detailed coverage of the entire U.S. coasts, lakes, rivers and inland waterways, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Canada coverage of coastal British Columbia, the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Coverage includes Bermuda, the Bahamas, Baja California, the Gulf of California, Johnston Atoll and Palmyra Atoll/Kingman Reef.

Radar:

The Garmin GPSMAP 1243 GN+ GMR 18HD+ Radar Bundle includes a 36nm radar that provides clearer and more defined images to your compatible Garmin chartplotter. The GMR 18HD+ has self-contained signal processing that provides the ideal “plug-and-play” addition to your Garmin Marine Network. An aid in hazard avoidance, MARPA target tracking is also supported (with optional heading sensor).

Display:

The GPSMAP 1243 GN+ Chartplotter features a large 12” touchscreen with high-resolution IPS color display. Excellent picture clarity, sunlight viewability and customizable screens, makes the 1243 a top network chartplotter.

Premium Charting Options:

The Garmin GPSMAP GN+ displays are compatible with Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts, Garmin’s premier chart offering. Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts include both coastal and lake coverage within the region of your choice. Data is sourced from Garmin and Navionics in order to provide you with exceptional detail. Regions are larger than previous charting from Garmin and provide High Resolution Relief Shading, Auto Guidance+ routing, High Resolution Satellite Imagery, Sonar Imagery, Aerial Photography, SideScan Images and 1-year of free daily updates via the Garmin ActiveCaptain app! Garmin Navionics Vision+ charts require premium content to be downloaded post purchase via the ActiveCaptain app with a compatible smartphone or tablet. All premium chart options are available in the region of your choice and sold separately.

Sonar:

The GPSMAP 1243 supports external sounder modules via network connection. The 1243 does not have an internal sounder, therefore if sonar is desired, an external sounder will be required. Select from Garmin Panoptix LiveScope Plus with GLS10 or the GSD series of sounder modules, all sold separately.

Network Support:

Full Garmin marine network support! It’s now easier than ever to add components such as a secondary display, SiriusXM weather, radar, and more. Simply connect any of those devices to one of the two available network ports for simple plug and play network sharing. Share detailed information with other Garmin MFDs such as maps, user data, IP camera video, and more. Your Garmin GPSMAP 1243 is also NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 compatible. Connect autopilots, VHF, AIS and more via NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000. The built-in J1939 port allows for easy engine integration for seamless support for an array of engines including Yamaha engines.

Built in WiFi connectivity allows for ActiveCaptain app support.
